Kim So Eun and SHINee to model for Clride

Clride.n has announced that Kim So Eun and SHINee will model for their upcoming fall/winter collection. Kim So Eun joins SHINee, who have been endorsement models for Clride.n since last year.

Clride.n expressed, “SHINee’s individualistic and energetic personalities are very compatible with Kim So Eun’s pure and charismatic image, and we feel that our 2009 FW ad campaign will draw strong interest from consumers.”

On top of the photoshoot campaign, Clride.n has also planned a variety of promotional activities for their 2009 FW collection.

Kim So-eun trades her usual long, straight locks for a curly mop and a smoky eye in the July issue of Singles.

Inside the magazine, the interview with Kim talks of the roles she’s taken on as a child actor, as well as her breakout role playing Chae Shi-ra’s younger character in the historical series Iron Empress and, of course, by her popularity as Ga-eul in Boys Before Flowers. In the few months since the latter wrapped, Kim So-eun has picked up numerous endorsement deals for brands like Clean and Clear, Pocari Sweat, and Anycall.

Kim So-eun calls herself “lucky” in her roles, talks about studying hard for university entrance (which friends told her was unnecessary since she’s famous), and recounts how she earned the nickname of “Runaway” in high school because she used to always run away whenever a boy she liked would appear.

She currently stars in The Man Who Can’t Get Married, which just began airing yesterday on KBS. The drama pulled in a mere 8% rating on its first day (competitor Queen Seon-deok is holding strong with 27%). Already she is drawing notice for her new role, which differs from her sweet and innocent Ga-eul character; in The Man Who Can’t Get Married, she displays a bright, lively personality with a hint of slyness.

While Goo Hye Sun and Lee Min Ho are promoting in Taiwan, the So-Eul couple are busy filming dramas in Korea.

Kim Bum has his drama "Dream" while Kim So Eun will be starring in her own drama, "The Man Who Can't Get Married".

Even though they have separate projects, they will still combine for the Bonjuk ads, and are into the 2nd month of their 1 year contract. Unfortunately, there won't be a commercial starring the So-Eul couple for Bonjuk.

Fans Celebrate Kim So Eun’s Coming-of-age Day

The newspaper companies must be loving it, judging from the way that fans are showing their love for their idols these days without battling an eyelid. Despite not being her birthday (6th September), fans of Kim So Eun took out a newspaper advertisement for their idol on 18th May to celebrate her coming-of-age day and becoming an adult at the age of 20 in Korea. Besides a photo of Kim So Eun from her Boys Before Flowers days, there were also words of encouragement:

"Will forever remember the beautiful memories that Chu Ga Eul left behind in Boys Before Flowers!", "Forever in support of actress Kim So Eun."

Kim So Eun who is currently in the midst of filming for The Man Who Can't Get Married and Fourth Period Murder Mystery, talked about her new projects when we visited her on the set of The Man Who Can't Get Married on the 15th.

"I currently filming for The Man Who Can't Get Married which will premiere on 15th June. I am working really hard right now towards my goal of becoming an even more mature, outgoing and bubbly female than the one you saw in Boys Before Flowers."

In her new drama, Kim So Eun is not going to be a high school girl anymore but a working female in her late 20s, and she is making extra effort towards her appearance to look like the real thing. So Eun expressed, "I have put on thicker make-up, more mature clothing, etc. I guess this is a prerequisite for an actresses when you go through an image change. I can't quite get used to it nor feel comfortable but then again, I become a high school girl again in Fourth Period Murder Mystery... hehe." So Eun looked like she was really uncomfortable with her new image. But we can tell that she is a pretty meticulous person, since she was grasping her script tightly and reading it, while doing the interview, taking extra care that it didn't fell out of her hands.

Kim So Eun :
"I saw the original adaptation and felt that it was really interesting. There were some exaggerated comedy elements that are unique with Japan in that adaptation so I am now working really hard to try and display that in my own style instead."

There might be a huge disparity in age (22 years) if you add the differences in age between Ji Jin Hee and Yoo Seung plus Kim So Eun. But So Eun said, "It has been an enjoyable working experience with the both of them and there are absolutely no problems at all despite the age differences. (Yoo) Seung Ho has been guiding and taking good care of me like an older brother while it has been a breeze communicating with Ji Jin Hee oppa at the film site. Please continue to watch over my development!"

Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Eun in Fourth Period Murder Mystery

Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Eun will soon be appearing in their first movie together as the main leads which is called Fourth Period Murder Mystery. The thriller movie which is currently in the midst of filming, has been scheduled for a July release, with many fans waiting to see if they can translate their child star success onto the big screen.

Yoo Seung Ho is a rebellious high school student and together with Kim So Eun, they get involved into a murder case on campus. The thriller sees them having to find the real culprits within the 1 hour deadline, where failure to do so would mean that they would be labelled as the culprits. The movie will also involve a thrilling chase scene that is sure to excite movie-goers. A member of the production team expressed, "Their (Yoo Seung Ho & Kim So Eun) acting were very natural from the beginning probably because they were child stars for a long time. Please anticipate this movie and watch out for their pairing as they are 2 of the hottest rising stars in the industry at the moment."
