Not popular with girls when he was a student

Hyun Joong wasn't popular among girls in school.
The KBS2 "Boys Over Flowers" 's noble prince "Yun Jihoo", the one man to receive all the female fans love - Kim Hyun Joong.

However, during childhood he could not receive any attention from the girl-students, for he was a 'plain boy'.

Says Kim Hyun Joong, "Usually, the Artist-types would have girls lining up outside their houses, but that wasn't the case for me."

"It's possibly because since the second grade, I started to wear glasses to see well. Thus, I did not capture much interest among the girl-students" he adds.
It was the time the last Asian Games was held in 1986 that Kim Hyun Joong was born

An exceptionally young and very pretty person in many people's eyes, being called with the title of "Fresh Star".

Kim Hyun Joong was just an average kid. Never significantly sickly, his parents expectations for him were a slip of an inch near having the 'model son'.

Laugh of the day: Shinhwa and their fans

I just thought that this was funny and cute. The sunbaes of all idols. I thought that this article was something embarrassing about Shinhwa but it was actually something really cute and interesting about the guys. It shows how loving and funny the guys are.

1. Once after the recording of a music program, the other singers all zoomed off in their vehicles. There were a group of fans of various singers waiting there at that time, including about 5 Shinhwa fans. Fans of the other singers were upset that they didn’t get to see their idols and started to cry.

At that time Eric’s vehicle drove out and stopped for a while, and then the 5 Shinhwa fans surrounded the vehicle and screamed for Eric to get out, and Eric had no choice but to meekly alight and receive their gifts from them… The crying fans saw this scene and started to laugh instead…

2. There were a couple of fans waiting outside Shinhwa’s dormitory to catch a glimpse of the guys, and were having jajangmyeon (black beanpaste noodles) when they felt drops of water falling on them. They looked up and realised that Eric and Junjin were shooting at them with water guns through the window…

3. There was once when Dongwan got back to the dormitory and saw a fan who had been waiting outside. He asked her, “Shouldn’t you be preparing to take the university entrance exam?” And he ended up lecturing her for 2 hours. The fan cried and never returned to the dormitory again, but years later she said gratefully, it’s all thanks to Dongwan that she managed to make it to the university…

4. Hyesung was going back to the dorm when he saw fans waiting outside (again), and told them, “Dongwan’s coming back soon, you’d better leave quickly…”

5. Once Eric and Dongwan came back to the dorm slightly tipsy and saw fans waiting outside (AGAIN!). Eric shoved a 10-won coin into a fan’s hand and told her, “This is for you, go and buy a house, a car and get a good meal.”

Dongwan said, “That’s not enough..”

After that Dongwan gave the fan a 100-won coin and said, “Take this and buy everything that you want…”

Idols turned Actors

We all know that all idol group members are not just trained to sing. To survive in the K-pop jungle, one must be trained to be an all around entertainer. Acting, dancing, hosting, modeling, eating a ball flame in front of a live audience, are all part of the rigorous preparation these idol group members have to go through.

Just the past year alone, we saw a lot of the most well known idol groups branch out from their usual sing and dance routine.

SS501 members also got bitten with the acting bug. Jungmin was last seen in the hit musical “Grease”. The play was given lukewarm reviews but everyone noted Jungmin’s dedication to lose 15 lbs. just to play the role of Danny.

And then there’s their leader, Kim Hyunjoong. If there’s one good example of crossover success, Hyunjoong has got to be it. He has now carved his name in the annals of Asian pop culture; he is more popular than ever and of course, the CF endorsements…

Of course this does not mean that his acting was given glowing remarks. Initially, fans were a little skeptical how this rookie will fare as a full-pledged drama actor.

But not all idols were as fortunate as Hyunjoong.

Case and point: Super Junior.
Instead of getting busy promoting in China or performing the Pajama Party Dance, Kibum spent most of the year in the 111-episode drama “Chunja’s Happy Events”. The drama wasn’t exactly a hit. And though Kibum got to pursue his acting which is a major priority for him, he unintentionally distanced himself from the fans.

I deleted a couple of paragraphs that didn't really talk about SS501 and I thought it wasn't as interesting.

Kim HyunJoong Wants to go USA for Study

Credits : SS601.com + (English Translation) xiaochu @ Quainte501.com

Acting as Yoon JiHoo in KBS ‘Boys Over Flowers, Kim HyunJoong revealed in one interview on 25-Feb about his plans to study in USA.

Kim HyunJoong revealed that he will end the filming for ‘Boys Over Flowers’ in March and will leave for USA to stay about 6 months to learn dancing.

He said “I am now devoted to filming of the drama, but I want to show a better image as a singer (SS501). My company has been supportive about this.”

However, after the filming ends for ‘Boys Over Flowers’, he still has a lot of schedules which was pushed back, so it seems like it would be difficult to actualize his overseas studies.

His company revealed “It is difficult to confirm his overseas study in USA based on his schedules.” The company representative said that there will be promotional activities in Japan for ‘Boys Over Flowers’ in April and then release of SS501 official album in July which they will have their activities for that and also have their Asia tour.

Kim Hyun Joong Teases F3

In a telephone interview on KBS Cool FM Hong Jin Kyung’s Entertainment Open Space yesterday afternoon, Kim Hyun Joong was asked to express his thoughts in a humorous manner towards his co-stars in Boys Before Flowers and he duly obliged with his answers.

"Min Ho ah, you are too tall. When we are filming using a long shot, I look shorter than you, really pisses (jokingly) me off. Don't walk with me next time." Towards Kim Bum, he said, "Kim Bum, do you still want to be an artiste in future? Your "secret" photos are in my hands, if you don't listen properly to what I say in future, I will distribute them to everyone!"

Hyun Joong's answers was probably too interesting which led to Kim Bum and Lee Min Ho who was beside him while he was on the phone to burst out laughing and could be heard over the airwaves. Finally, Hyun Joong wrapped up the segment by commenting on Kim Joon, "You always bet with me when we play a game of pool even though you know that I am bad at it. Hyung, you are such a good person, just lose to me once alright?"

Boys Before Flowers Ep 14!

This episode made me feel so bad for Jandi…She doesn’t deserve this but neither does JunPyo. I just hate HATE the evil mother!

Recap:

- This episode continues with the 4 of them on the boat, still enjoying themselves and Jandi remembering how JunPyo ignored her. The boat rower is singing Con te partiro, but suddenly they hear a voice in the background singing the same exact song but with horrible voice. Yi Jung and Woo Bin didn’t like it and said that if she’s Korean it’s a disgrace to korea. Hehe it was so funny when they found out that Jandi knew her and that she IS Korean. Jandi just smiles but I thought that she would try to call her out or say hi or what not, I guess not..The guys ask Jandi how she knew her and Jandi responds by saying that she saved her. Woo Bin then says that the ones who saved her were them, in a way showing that they care and somewhat jealous that someone else had saved her.

Then it goes to the scene of JunPyo and his mother picking up a business couple, in which they were the owners of JK Group and we also finds out that they’re the parents of Jae Kyung. Obviously we knew that we were in for it, that Jae Kyung will be JunPyo’s future fiancé and this is probably why/how they PD will be introducing her.

The three guys and Jandi then decides to go eat. Ji Hoo who is in the front, sees JunPyo and his mother dining with some business people, and quickly turns around and suggests to go to a different restaurant to eat. Everyone didn’t understand why, but Yi Jung quickly understands the situation and help Ji Hoo in helping Jandi avoid JunPyo and his mother. I just love how quick and clever both Yi Jung and Ji Hoo is. Not only that but they are both very caring. Meanwhile, as JunPyo is having dinner, he receives a text, I’m guessing from the worker, a picture of Jandi and Ji Hoo sitting next to each other on the boat.

Jandi sits in the hallway of the hotel thinking about her situation with JunPyo. Ji Hoo comes up to her and asks her if she regrets coming to Macau, in response she says that at least she got to visit a nice place. She then says that she’d like to ask JunPyo how he’s been and her saying that she’s been okay. She then goes on about how it seems so long ago, that maybe it could’ve been a dream, but Ji Hoo who seems disturbed says “It’s not a dream. If it were, it wouldn’t have been so painful. After sending you off, I realized that I’d done nothing all this time. When I came to my senses, you were on the plane. So it’s not a dream. Because you’re in front of me now.” Then he quickly says goodnight and walks away, leaving Jandi behind who blows on the window and writes a character. I’m not Korean so I didn’t know what she wrote. I wish it was translated
Note: Just found out that it the character for “J”

JunPyo goes golfing and the worker dude asks him if he was going to see his friends. JunPyo then asks if he does would he be able to take the whole day off and play with his friends, in which the answer is a no. JunPyo then goes on about not having time to play with friends. He then ‘supposedly’ goes on a business visit that the worker had set up but thought it was weird that they were going to meet at such a location. It turns out that he was meeting the rest of the F4 members at the basketball court and that Yi Jung had asked the worker dude to set it up for him. JunPyo obviously wasn’t happy and the other guys can sense it.

JunPyo: “Nice to see you”

Ji Hoo: “Do you mean that? Doesn’t seem like it.”

Yi Jung asks JunPyo if he was happy that Jandi had come to visit him

JunPyo: “And why do I have to see her? Girls like her don’t mean anything to me now.”

Yi Jung: “So you not calling Jan-di was intentional?”

JunPyo: “Intentional or not, I didn’t have time to bother worrying about stuff like that.”

Yi Jung: “You call yourself a man?”

JunPyo: Retorts saying that they have done the same thing with women “So, why can’t I?”

Yi Jung: “but I’ve never acted like you!”

Yi Jung tries to go at JunPyo angrily but WooBin holds him back.

Yi Jung: “What did you tell us back when we tried to stop you? You said a man takes responsibility from the beginning through the end!”

JunPyo: “And you believed it? No way you guys believed we would make it in the end.”

Yi Jung: “Whose fault is it that Jan-di can’t swim anymore?!”

Of course this line caught JunPyo by surprise, but he adjusts quickly and pretends he doesn’t care.

Yi Jung: “Listen to what that asshole’s saying! I warned you. I told you not give encouragement too easily, you coward!”

JunPyo: “Did you quit being my friend and all rush to be Jan-di’s black knights? If you came here as friends, then enjoy yourselves before going home. But if you even think about mentioning her name, leave immediately.”

WooBin: “Why have you changed?”

JunPyo: “700,000. That’s the number of Shinhwa employees and family members I have to take responsibility for… 700,000. Try taking on 700,000 lives, and see if you don’t change.”

Okay, so I don’t normally put the dialogue on here but I couldn’t help it! This scene was very important and memorable. I loved it! I loved the fact that Yi Jung got really angry and stood up for Jandi, showing how much he cares for her. He believes in what’s right and wrong and it shows that he’s changed compared to the Yi Jung that we first saw in the first episodes of Boys Before Flowers. Another thing is that we now realize what JunPyo is going through and the reason why he’s acting that way. We now know that Madam Kang has been putting all this weight on JunPyo and pressuring him to do his best, to take on the company because if all fails then 700,000 people’s lives are at stake. Poor JunPyo. Throughout this scene Ji Hoo doesn’t react to this because he somewhat already realized the situation before the WooBin and Yi Jung. He was more calm and collected but at the same time what JunPyo was saying did bother him.

The guys then go to meet Jandi, who is standing by the bridge. Yi Jung starts talking but WoBin tries to stop him. Yi Jung says that she needs to know the truth but WooBin tries to explain that JunPyo’s changed and it’s probably because he’s been under a lot of stress. Jandi asks if JunPyo wasn’t willing to see her and that it’s okay because she was going to have to face it sooner or later. The guys were surprised at her reaction but suddenly Woo Bin suggests they play a game that the boys used to play when they were younger. Basically they’re playing tag with those cute masks on. I love the way Woo Bin was acting cute with the mask, his head gesture and everything. Jandi who was almost caught by Woo Bin was saved by Ji Hoo, who instantly grabs her to the side. They both hide in a corner, but Jandi then sees the tv on the tower of JunPyo and becomes really sad. She then starts crying, Ji Hoo tries to take her mask off but she refuses, and Ji Hoo then hugs her. This scene made me cry, just writing about it right now makes me teary. I feel so bad for Jandi the whole situation. She’s at a lost and it was so sudden how everything happened. She had lost the ability to swim and when she thought that she had something to look forward to, which was JunPyo, is now something that’s breaking her heart even more.

Ji Hoo then goes to see JunPyo, asking him to go see Jandi for once. JunPyo asks why and Ji Hoo says that that’s the only thing he can do for her. Ji Hoo cares for her so much, yet he can’t do anything about it. The only person he knows that can make it right for Jandi is JunPyo and not him, which makes it harder for him. Then it jumps to the scene of Ji Hoo back at the hotel remembering when Jandi had came to his place before she left for Macau and thanked him, saying “After today, I’m not sure I can say these words. I’m really glad that I got to know you.”

Ji Hoo then goes to wake up Jandi who was sound asleep in her bed. He tells her to go for a walk with him. Jandi goes but she thought it was weird to go at such a time of day. He then tells her that he’s only going to walk her up until here and that she should just continue on the bridge and someone would be there waiting for her. Turns out it’s JunPyo. Jandi hesitantly walks towards JunPyo and cutely says hi.

Jandi: “I was really worried after I heard about your father.”

JunPyo: Thanks (No emotion) Is that why you came all the way here?… As you see, I’m fine, and as you know, I’m extremely busy. Now that you know, go. Don’t bother worrying about my well-being.”

JunPyo: “Do you have more to say?”

Jandi: “Do you really mean it?”

JunPyo: “What do you want? You can’t be expecting me to say, ‘I’m sorry, forgive me, I’ll go back soon so wait for me,’ could you?”

Jandi: “Why are you doing this?”

JunPyo: “I’ve started to wake up to reality, that’s all.”

Jandi: “All right, I understand now. Then you really did intend to act like you didn’t see me, and to avoid meeting me. To you, I’m—”

JunPyo: “A stain I want to erase.”

Jandi: “That’s cruel of you, Gu JunPyo. Really cruel.”

JunPyo: “No. I’ve always been this kind of guy. I just pretended I wasn’t.”

Jandi: “I’ll go, take care.”

JunPyo: ““Worry about yourself” Leaves…

Again! I think that this scene is another important part to this episode. OMG! Poor Jandi! She’s hurt so badly! She tries to calm herself but of course she gets really teary and all her sadness comes pouring out. It’s also really hard for JunPyo to act cool and nonchalant in front of Jandi when obviously he still loves and cares for her. Because of his situation JunPyo and Jandi is forced into breaking up. Ughh! I just hate this so much!

Jandi walks away sad. She then sits at a corner where the boat guy comes up to her and asks if she’s okay. He offers her a ride, she gets on and tries to pay him to sing her a song. It was cute the way she was taking out her money, but he refuses and said that the song was on him. She listens but suddenly she breaks down crying. I feel so bad for Jandi, even I started crying.

JunPyo is back at his place. He barges into the office where his mother is, asking her if she was happy. She tries to put him on a guilt trip about his father and throwing everything away for Jandi. He then yells at her to leave Jandi alone, saying that if she breaks her promise he will destroy everything.

Meanwhile, Jandi’s little brother wasn’t feeling well and was complaining about his stomach. Her father then tells him not to hold in poo in and that he should let it all out, but then later realize that something was seriously wrong. They run to the doctor’s office, in which we find out that the doctor is no other than the cranky grandpa/ Ji Hoo’s grandfather. He helps Jandi’s younger brother, the family falls asleep next to the bedside and the grandpa leaves them there for the night, walking out while turning off the light.

Jandi then sits on a bench and of course, as usual, Ji Hoo pops up looking ever so cute! He speaks Chinese to her asking if she wants any ice cream and in return she has to give him her day. Sad Jandi didn’t realize it was Ji Hoo until a little later. They then go around, spending the day exploring the place. They also went shopping in which Jandi runs into these really cute shoes and admires it for a really long time. JunPyo happens to pass by and sees how Jandi was admiring those shoes but then walks off. Ji Hoo comes up to her and tells her that they’re late and that they need to go. They went to watch a cirque de soleil type of show, in which I love! I love these types of shows they have in Vegas.

JunPyo goes back to the store that Jandi was at earlier to get her the shoes. As he was grabbing for the shoes, Jae Kyung suddenly comes up and grabs the same shoe. They argue and fight and finally after what seems like forever you see the old JunPyo! I miss this side of him, too bad he was showing it to Jae Kyung and not to Jandi. He even forced Jae Kyung to try on the shoe, which I thought was weird, how does he even know they’re the same size as Jandi’s feet?

Madam Kang asks the assistant what junPyo was doing and he replies that JunPyo is working. Alone, instead of working JunPyo is watching the video that Ji Hoo made Jandi record in the earlier episode. He gets emotional, jumps out of his chair, supposedly going to find Jandi, but suddenly a video of him and his father popped up when he was still a little boy. In the video he talks to his father about taking care of his older sister and mother. This part got me all teary. JunPyo then breaks down, not knowing what to do anymore. He’s torn between the two and it’s killing him instead. Poor JunPyo…so many responsibility that’s been put upon his shoulders.

The next day Ji Hoo and Jandi checks out. They’re in the lobby ready to leave but an old friend of Ji Hoo pops up. He seems really happy to see Ji hoo and asks him to stay for a while longer at his place. He notice that Ji Hoo keeps looking at Jandi, so Ming, Ji Hoo’s friend, pulls Jandi away and lies that he has some kind of sickness and wishes for them to stay longer. Jandi of course says yes, goes back to Ji Hoo and says that it wouldn’t hurt to stay for a couple more days. As they were walking away Ji Hoo puts his arm around Jandi as they happily walks, but Ming gets jealous and pushes Jandi out of the way and puts his arm around Ji Hoo. This part was so cute of Ming and at the same time funny.

Ming takes them back to his place, in which the place was beautiful! I loved the place. He prepares a feast for them on the table, more like for Ji Hoo actually. Jandi picks up a mug for some water but Ming snatches it away saying it’s only for Ji Hoo. Then he turns the cup and you see a picture of him and Ji Hoo! How funny! He’s so weird, something about his mouth bothers me. Anyways, as Jandi tries to go after the food Ming kept stopping her and offers it to Ji Hoo instead. Ji Hoo sees the situation, looks at Jandi, and offers her the food instead. Jandi happily eats the food but in a rather disgusting way. She was shoving the food into her mouth, nonstop, stuffing it until she couldn’t stuff it anymore.

Out in the balcony, Ji Hoo and his friend talks while Jandi is in the living room enjoying some flower tea. Ming goes on about how Jandi is not pretty and what not and asks if Ji Hoo was dating her. Ji Hoo then asks Ming what he thinks and Ming replies, “It seems that you like her. When you look at her, you smile, like back then.” Ji Hoo asks, “back then?” Ming then replies, “Like with Seo hyun.”

JunPyo calls Jandi’s hotel but finds out that she had checked out. He then asks the assistant but he informs JunPyo that she had went to Ji Hoo’s friend’s house instead. The assistant then asks if JunPyo wants him to find out who it is but JunPyo devlines. The assistant then smiles to himself, showing that he understands that JunPyo still cares for Jandi very much.

JI Hoo and Jandi goes out again, this time they go site seeing, which was very beautiful! It was amazing and the timing was just right…they went during sunset. How gorgeous is that? They then goes to an area where people were surrounded and watches some guy play the guitar, which ends this episode.
